Henry Greene was apprenticed in 1693 to Thomas Allen, who is one of the “First Fifteen” London spoonmakers . Henry Greene was one of the best London spoonmakers of the early 18th century. Dog nose, rat tail with an ornately engraved and embossed terminal. Engraved with greyhound crest for the Smith Marriott Family. Sir John Smith was the first Baronet and High Sheriff of Dorset in 1772. Smith Marriot was a fellow of the The Society of Antiquaries the oldest independent learned society concerned with the study of the past. Weight 361 grams. The pieces are in good condition with only age related signs of wear.
