A wonderfully characterful small chest of drawers, this has the remains of the paintwork in a pale yellow over white, with a black pinstripe which gives a panelled effect to the drawer fronts, sides and top. It has a useful back gallery board which stops items from falling down, and attractive large black wooden drawer pulls. A great little piece of storage, this will look good in any bedroom, complementing a light decor and providing Victorian character while furnishing the original ‘shabby chic’ look. Its size means it will work well in a smaller room.
Dating to circa 1840, this is made of pine and originates from the UK.
In good age related condition, this has the original ‘shabby chic’ character to a piece which is over 150 years old and a true antique. Two of the drawers have small knotholes in the base which do not affect function, particularly if the drawers are lined.
