Four Georgian Silver Side Plates. These superb pieces of Georgian silver come from the renowned silversmith John Emes. Emes was apprenticed to William Woollett and worked at Amen corner until his death in 1808. He specialised in dinner services and teasets. Each piece is distinctly georgian in style, oval in form with banded rims and a gilded interior. There is an armorial ( possisbly the Robertson family) engraved to the top of each plate and a good set of hallmarks to the underside. A useable and highly desirable set. The piece is in good condition with only age related signs of wear. Weight 270grams.1800, Silver, British.
