An elegant Louis Philippe figured walnut commode with a beautiful grain and colour, this has a removable grey fossiliferous marble top with a moulded edge. Four of the drawers are opened using the key which is provided, whilst the fifth is hidden in the base and can be pulled out from beneath. This piece has the clean lines expected for a chest of drawers in this style, complemented by the lovely veneer panels at the front which have been matched in six horizontal panels to provide an attractive pattern. This will make a lovely storage piece for any space and provides a display surface which is easy to maintain.
Dating to circa 1850, this is made of walnut and marble, and originates from France.
In good age related condition. The marble has a tiny chip to the back left corner, but is otherwise without defect. The key is available and the locks are in working order.
