A beautifully designed and crafted mid century sideboard or cocktail cabinet, this 1950s piece was manufactured by E Gomme of High Wycombe, who produced the G Plan brand, this piece being part of the Brandon range. The maker’s label is inside the right door and its design dates the piece to the early 1950s through to mid 1960s. It has a simple, timeless design, with solid oak handles and base, two cupboards and a drawer. There is a drinks tray fitted inside the door of the single cupboard, which also has a removable shelf, and the double cupboard has a recessed shelf, to allow bottles to be stood inside, which is also removable. There are three fixed compartments inside the drawer. The oak has a beautiful golden patina which only age can achieve.
Dating to the 1950s, this piece is made of oak and oak veneer and originates from England.
In good age-related condition, this has a small chip from the veneer on the back edge of the left side, and some small paint marks on the back left leg, but these are not obtrusive.
