Striking pair of red velvet and carved walnut armchairs. Made in the style of Louis XIV.
Both chairs displaying a carved leaf motif to the arm rests and towards the feet. Upholstered in a wine-red velvet which is studded into place.
Some characteristics of note are, the original hessian back and seat padding as well as some age related wear to the velvet.
The hessian back panel would have been covered with a smooth matching fabric, remnants of which are still remain.
In good sturdy condition with age related wear as shown and described. Some slight signs of previous woodworm also as shown.

Dating to the early 20th Century, circa 1930.
