A fantastic Victorian silver card case. This wonderful little item has some beautiful decoration on it. The entire case is covered in stylised leaves and vines with a clean cartouche on the front. There is a button on one side to release the lid with all catches and hinges in good condition and a gilded interior. The hallmarks are for Birmingham 1876 and the item was made by the silversmiths Hilliard & Tomason ( The firm of Hilliard & Thomason entered a few different marks and most of their items were assayed at Birmingham assay office. The firm’s first mark was registered in January 1847). This would make an ideal gift or uplift any collection.
