A pretty chest of drawers or commode in French Neoclassical style, this has a removable red marble top with white and grey veining and some lovely marquetry inlay. There are two full sized drawers below a shallow hidden drawer which is behind the top frieze. A charming motif with a cherub playing a flute is depicted on the front and there are decorative ormolu style mounts at various points, with inlaid swags and flowers on the sides. The front corners of the marble are angled, in-line with the corners of the chest down to cabriole legs. The top two drawers lock together from the keyhole in the centre drawer. This is a relatively small piece which will fit well into any space.
Dating to the 20th century, this is made of mixed woods and marble, and originates from Sweden.
The marble is not chipped and the piece is in good condition with signs of normal wear from age and use. The key is available.
