A delightful embodiment of antique charm and practicality, this small early 19th century Welsh dresser captures the enduring essence of traditional countryside aesthetics. Its upper section features a cornice and three shelves, each thoughtfully designed with grooves for displaying plates and serving ware, alongside hooks to the edges for mugs or jugs.
The main body of the dresser comprises of five compact spice drawers which adorn the lower part of the shelving section. Continuing onto three drawers situated above a ‘dog kennel’ recess, flanked by cupboards on either side. The dresser’s main surface showcases a delicate burr effect to the middle, enhancing its Welsh country aesthetic.
While gently worn with age, the dresser remains charming and practical. Some of the 32 hooks are loose, one is slightly damaged.
Some assembly will be required, the shelving section can be secured to a wall at the top for added stability. (As shown)
