A traditional pine two-piece kitchen dresser from the Victorian era with graduated plate shelves at the top and a base containing two drawers and a two-door cupboard with a single shelf. The plate shelves have holes along the front edges for hooks to hang cups and they have grooves along the back edge for standing plates, as does the back of the dresser base. The shelving unit is removable from the base for ease of movement.
This is a piece of furniture for the country kitchen, ideal for the display of china and with a good storage section in the base, with relatively deep drawers and plenty of space in the cupboard underneath.
This dresser is in acceptable condition for its age. There are some splits in the wood in the back of the piece, the bottom of the drawers and along the cupboard shelf, but none of these will affect its use as a practical kitchen unit.
