A lovely violin from the turn of the 20th century, this has an attractive patina from long use and comes with a velvet ‘cover’ or resting cloth. There is a paper label adhering to the lower bout which has an inked name which may be “Garey Phider”. The fabric is embroidered with red poppies and white daisies and has a green lined back and appears to be of a similar age, with some darning to the velvet.
Dating to circa 1900, this is made of wood and originates from the UK.
In generally good age related condition, the strings need attention. There is some damage to the end button and there is a small chip from the scroll which is old and now has the patina of wear.
