19th Century Amputation Set. A fine amputation set in bespoke brass bound mahogany case. The interior is lined with red velvet and comprises several knives ( marked S. Maw, London), scalpels, pliers, tweezers, tourniquet, saw and other medical implements made from polished steel. The box has a lightly worn but clean cartouche and comes with a working lock and key. This is a scarce set and would be a superb addition to any collection. The piece is in good condition with only age related signs of wear.
