A lovely quality 19th century cased set of amputation equipment, this includes implements by both Swedish and London makers. It is a scarce item to find on the market and will appeal to the collector of scientific instruments
– Two largest blades are marked S. Maw of London and have fine chip worked wood handles.
– Two smaller knives are marked for A. V. L. Ward.
– Bones shears are marked for Stockholm.
– Heavy mahogany case with red velvet lining.
– Ebonised handles to the saw and smaller knives.
– Brass screw tourniquet.
– Suture needles in small compartment.
– Brass bindings to the box.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use.
