A beautiful example of a late 19th century stationery box for the desk, this has everything that the well organised correspondent could want. It is lovely quality and is as useful for the office today as it was when made.
– Removable perpetual calendar at the top, with winding knobs underneath a hinged flap.
– Drawer at the bottom.
– Removable oak framed porcelain memo slate inside the right door, which can be written on with pencil.
– Tape webbing inside the left door, with movable retaining brass clips at the bottom.
– Pen dish at the front, with glass ink bottles either side.
– Lockable, with key available.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. The brass cuff on one of the ink bottles has corroded and it has come away from the glass, so that the lid is not functional. The tape on the webbing is loose from the retaining nail at one point. The lock works and the key is available. The perpetual calendar is in good order.
