A true antique, this small oak coffer will have been used in a church and dates back to the Elizabethan period. Still having a functional use 400 years after it was first made, it is a charming storage piece which will evoke the past whenever it is opened.
– Iron lock and hinges.
– A key is included, but the lock is not functional, with the iron latch fixed to the inside of the lid.
– Bracket feet, shaped at the side and holding the base above the floor.
In sturdy condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There are some minor signs of historical woodworm in the base, but these are negligible. The lock is not functional.
