Over 400 years old, this Elizabethan armchair is a true antique and is in remarkably good, functional condition. Almost like a throne in proportions, with a wide, comfortable seat and unusually broad arms, it will make a tempting place to sit in any environment.
– Wide, supportive armrests, with tactile ends.
– Coffered back.
– 3 plank seat.
– Square stretchers, with the front turned and two at the sides.
– Turned front legs.
In good, sturdy condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is a minor checking crack at the bottom of the back panel, but the back holds firm. Remarkably for a chair of this age, there is no sign of woodworm.
