A fabulous piece of rustic elm furniture, this French work bench dates to the first half of the 19th century and will make a great freestanding storage and worktop piece for a country farmhouse kitchen.
– Central circular hole and square hole on one side, originally there for fitting clamps and tools, but perhaps now useful for running cables from below.
– More recent base planks fitted into frame to provide pot board storage.
– Large working clamp on one side with iron screw mechanism to tighten.
– Slanted A frame shape, with the clamp side upright and the legs on the other side at an angle.
– Lovely grain, with knots and wear consistent with a work bench used for around two centuries.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use.
