A lovely 18th century Georgian mahogany work table with storage and a firescreen, this will make a fabulous functional sewing or knitting station, but will also work well as a side table with the option to keep books, magazines and other bits and pieces in the drawer and under-box.
– Checkerboard top with squares of different wood veneers in a 4 x 4 pattern.
– Decorative stringing throughout.
– Tapered square section legs with cross stretchers.
– Pull up firescreen with sprung bottom, so that it can be pulled up and out.
– Pull out and removable bottom box section with padded external upholstery in the same material as the fire screen.
– Sectioned drawers with compartments along one side.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use, with some minor marks on the top. There are signs of old woodworm, particularly on the left back leg. The firescreen and the box fabrics appear to have been replaced relatively recently.
