A lovely piece of late Georgian writing paraphernalia. This finely made sterling silver mounted hobnail cut glass travelling inkwell is by Archibald Douglas. The lid has a fully working screw lock mechanism and is embellished with a lion armorial. The original cork is still in place and the hallmarks can be found to the rim for London 1829. The glass is in nice condition with no obvious chips or bruising. A very good example indeed.
