An early and fine example of a Georgian wick trimmer dating to 1799. The handle has two octagonal holes for the fingers with each separating part fashioned from three strips. The hood (which has a sheaf armorial) and handle are silver with an unusual steel cutter. The piece sits on three rounded feet. Hallmarked for London and by Abstainando King this is a very nice piece of silverware dating from the reign of George III. Weight 87 grams.
