A good piece of early 20th Century militaria. This dark blue cloth helmet with metal cross piece, spike and ear bosses has a gilt chain that can be found attached. The front of the helmet has a regimental badge with the words ‘The Lincolnshire Regiment’ upon it. The interior has a crimson and leather band with a green surround. A metal trim can be found to the front. The original regiment was raised in 1685 and later served at home stations, on the Western Front, in Egypt, Gallipoli and India. Stand does not come with the helmet but can be purchased for and additional £35.
