An intriguing octagonal occasional tea or chai table in lacquered wood, this early 20th century Anglo Indian piece has a removable top which fits onto a folding, hinged base. The top is painted in red and black, with a central figurative scene of a couple on a horse and surrounding motifs depicting animals and mythical beasts. The base has some green included in the slightly more vibrant colour scheme and a mythical beast on each leg. This is a great decorative piece for any home and can easily be folded away, making it convenient for a conservatory or summerhouse.
Dating to circa 1900, this is made of lacquered wood and originates from India.
In good original age related condition, this has some chips to the wood underneath the top and on a couple of the corners, with some other use related scuffs and marks on the surface, but none of these are obtrusive or affect structural integrity.
