A fabulous pair of Italian painted wood commodes in grey with white detail, these unusual chests date to the turn of the 20th century and appear to have the original drawer furniture. It is wonderful to have a matching pair and they will provide great looking storage furniture for any room.
– Distressed painted finish, with a marble effect on the black painted tops.
– 2 drawers each.
– Original locks present.
– Tapered legs.
– Painted designs show garlands with bows on the sides, with landscape scenes, people and trees on the drawer fronts.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use, with a rustic, distressed finish and some rough nibbling to the drawer front tops. There are some minor signs of old, treated woodworm, but this has not affected the structural integrity. The original locks are present, although no keys are available.
