A useful Scandinavian cupboard with a rustic look to it, this provincial late Baroque piece dates to the early 19th century and is made in solid pine with period handmade hardware. Painted in brown, with shelving and drawers inside, it will make a wonderful storage piece for a kitchen or country-style dining room, with its notched inner shelf ideal for hanging cutlery.
– Brown paint to main body, with a grey-blue wash on the top and a scumbling effect in black.
– Panelled doors, with a raised shaped motif.
– Fixed shelf, with a half-shelf above which has a notched front edge for hanging cutlery.
– 2 drawers at the top.
– Decorative iron trunk-style handles either side.
– Tapered legs.
– Internal metal latch for the left door.
In good condition with a rustic appearance, showing wear consistent with age and use. There are some signs of old woodworm and associated wear at the back bottom right corner. The right door has a lock, but there is no key. The left door is held in place with an inner metal latch and the right side push fits in place.
