A handsome piece of 17th century craftsmanship, this spindle chair is a beautiful example of the skill of the turner. It will look equally lovely in an English cottage or a grand house. The wide, flat seat is bordered by a bobbin turned frame which asks for a large, comfortable cushion.
– Barley twist back spindles, with a similar pattern reflected in the stretchers.
– Bobbin turning elsewhere, in the legs, around the seat, and in the frame of the back.
– Square stretchers at the bottom, with side stretchers above.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use.
