A handsome welsh oak settle dating to around 1800, this came from a Derbyshire estate. It is a great piece for an English cottage, a pub with history, or a hallway. It combines useful seating with storage space on the board beneath, where boots and shoes might be kept.
– Panelled back.
– Base board.
– Turned legs.
– Visible joints.
– What appear to be initials carved into the centre of the front apron, perhaps “J H”.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There are some signs of historic woodworm, as to be expected for a piece of this age.
