A pretty painted bureau bookcase with drawers, this French style early 20th century piece is covered all over with decorative flowers. It is slim and will fit nicely into a smaller space, providing both drawer storage and some useful shelving. It will look lovely in an interior in the French manner, perhaps a lady’s boudoir or even a bedroom.
– Green, cream and gilt paint, with some pink and red in the flowers.
– Cupboard and bureau painted green inside.
– 2 fixed shelves in cupboard.
– 3 drawers.
– 5 pigeonholes and a drawer inside the bureau section.
– Crackled paint appearance.
– Swan neck cornice.
– Cabriole legs.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is a key in the cupboard door which does not turn the lock, but which can be used to open the door; the closure is push fit. No key is available for the bureau. The paintwork has a crackle appearance.
