A lovely pair of Italian carved giltwood cherubs, these date to the early 18th century and have been mounted on pine boards. They will look beautiful as decorative wall pieces, equally at home in a cosy boudoir or a grand country home.
– Winged cherubs, each with a loincloth and carrying flowers with a rope and tassel.
– The flowers are gilded metal.
– Holes in the back suggest they would once have been attached to something, perhaps an item of furniture.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There has probably been some restoration on a couple of the wings where they join the body.
