Rare Copper Lustre Jug Advertising Riddle & Bryan. This very rare piece of Lustreware can be found on page 532 of Goddens. The jug was made as an advertising piece for Riddle & Bryan of Longton, Staffordshire. This hitherto unrecorded printed mark occurs on part of the clocks face panels which are on each side of the jug. R G Hagger records the fact that George Bryan withdrew from the Riddle & Co partner in 1840. The firm continued as Riddle & Lightfoot up until 1851. The piece is in good condition with only age related signs of wear.
